Nachlass Rudolf Rieser - - Roth, Dieter. Löwenselbst (Schokoladenlöwe). Lion-self. Schokoladenskulptur. Um 1969. Ca. 25 x 19 x 15 cm.
Wohl außerhalb der Auflage von 30 Exemplaren produziertes Exemplar (Prototyp?) ohne Etikett an der Unterseite. Aus der Werkstatt von Rudolf Rieser, der auch die Produktion der ersten Exemplare der Edition von 250 Exemplaren (laut Roth nicht ausgeführt), übernahm. - Vgl. Dobke, Bücher + Multiples, S. 26 - Dobke, 1960-1975, 1969.13. - "This sculpture is both a homage to his companion at the time, Dorothy Iannone, whom he called 'my lioness' and a depiction of an alter ego in the form of a seated lion... The lion motif played an important role in his graphic work during these years. Possibly the idea of the chocolate 'Löwenselbst' was inspired by the place where Rudolf Rieser lived in Cologne Löwenich, 'Lion-I'."
